I paint
mostly in oils on canvas,
though prior to that I was
involved with charcoal and pencils
- and for many years focused on
drawing. Lately I've been
learning to use pastels and am
enjoying the challenge.
(Update on the pastels, I love
them and use them most of the
time now!)
As
you can see from the website, I
enjoy painting a multitude of
subjects, whatever moves and/or
fascinates me. Painting is an
attempt to convey outwardly what
I've been touched by in some
way. It is also a sharing with
others. Much of my work at this
time is representational. Some
of my work is inspired by
dreams, thoughts and
imagination. And some is
an effort to portray my path of healing and
transformation. Being able
to express myself through art is
a way to be here in the present
moment.
I think most everyone is aware of an urge to
create on some
level, whether it is what
you write, compose, invent, build,
sing, dance etc.
The painters who have
touched me most are Georgia O'Keeffe
and Vincent Van Gogh, but there
are countless artists whose work
I am enthralled by.
